Hello, I own a 486 and was recently using Windows 3.1 on it and I wanted to upgrade to Windows 95. Well I formatted the hard drive and something went wrong with the monitor so I shut off the computer and restarted it. But it was formatted and it wouldn't start. Now it asks for a boot disk and I do not know what boot disk it is talking about. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks very much

It really doesn't matter what boot disk you use. The best would probably be a DOS 6.22 boot disk, but any boot disk should work. E-mail me if you have any questions at pryorjn1@hotmail.com

First I would restore everything the way it was.use your dos 6.22 setup disk. If you need it go here. Do you have a 16 bit or a 32 bit system. Windows 95 will not work on a 16 bit system

Summary: Go here to get a bootdisk for Win 95. Choose either Win 95A or Win 95B bootdisk depending on which version you have. If your W95 CD says it has USB support, you have Win 95B. http://jason-n3xt.org/dos...
