A few years ago I remember reading that if your computer has over a certain amount of memory, then sometimes you have to add a couple of lines to system.ini, I think it is, for Windows 3.1 or WFWG 3.11 or else Windows won't load. Unfortunately, when I look for it now, I can't find anything on the subject. I can't remember specifically, but it has some thing to do with stacks or cache or.... Anyway, I hope somebody knows what I'm talking about. Thanks.
Didn't seem to work. Funny thing is, I can start win 3.1 from the DOSBox program in Windows XP, but booting up into DOS and trying to run windows just gets me the Windows start up screen. I tried Win/b, but Windows stays locked up too. And the bootlog doesn't help much. Oh well, I'll play around with it some more.
Ah, I found what I was looking for, in another post "You have to alter the the Vcache= line under [ENH386] in the Config.sys if you use memory over 512 MB."
