I have a Tandy Sensation computer that my father gave to my kids for christmas. Like a good computer sure of old machines, I screwed it up. I reformated the drive, and wanted to reinstall windows 95. Only problem was the drivers for the cdrom arn't the same as the ones on my boot disk. I have found that the The tandy uses a special startup disk that I don't have at my disposal. whats more, any and all attemps to get a cdrom driver to function under win3.11 has failed. If anyone has any ideas as to how to solve this problem please send me an e-mail and tell me how to fix it. I am not an inexperianced computer user. I and my kids love old machines.

I guess you have an old (non IDE) cdrom-player. Open up the computer to find out what cdrom you have.

Hi Raymond:
Make sure you know the type of CPU (hopefully a 486) hard drive size, & at lease 8-16 meg of RAM. If you system is to old you'll be just waisting you time, might be better to install DOS 6.22/ Win 3.1, if old PC with a 120 meg or less hard drive. If you have one of the CDR-1000 or CDR-3000 (external CD) drives, I believe they are only 1x speed, like a standard Audio CD player.Good luck.

thanks guys, so far no luck. the cdrom drive is an mpc internal came with the computer I think. all I have now is a win3.1 with a small hard drive, and a big case.

Hi Raymond.
I recently purchased a Tandy Sensation from a School surplus sale. I got around the CD Rom problem by removing the little circuit board on the side of mainboard and hooking another CD Rom to the internal IDE cable. booted with a w98 boot disk and installed W95. After shutting down and reinstalling the original CDRom It still wouldn't work so I simply picked up a used CD Rom and completely removed the Tandy Setup. Has worked great for over a year now. good luck james

Hay this conversation was realy interesting.....Can I use window/dos programs, games on my old tandy 1000TL/2?
