Hey thats the same problem I get when I tried to make a permanent swap file. I dont believe its corrupted though. I gave up & kept using mine even with this error. Other than this error the machine functions ok so I just ignore it but I would like a fix for it. Hope someone can help.

Hi sc:
The first I would try is to use c:/>scandisk,
then c:/>defrag (make sure you do a full defrag so that all the files are all together, no spaces between). Then make sure you have enough space on hard disk for permanate swap file, because this will dedicate this space for only swap files, & will show up as X spaces in defrag. If this dosen't work, then use the temp swap files like Samantha.

Good luck.
Z

I got this problem on an old 386 I have - I speed tested the two hard drives, then setup a permanent swap on the fastest - result exactly what sc got. It'll set one up on the other drive tho! It's not fragmentation, however, PCcheck says that the "bad" drive is running in translation mode, so may be it's this that windows doesn't like.
