Hi, I'm running DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 on Virtual PC 2007.
My sound works in DOS, but not Windows. I tried installing the soundblaster drivers (both 1.0 and 1.5). They install OK and I put in the correct IRQ etc.
The apps then seem play sound but all I hear is the odd click or squeek. What could be wrong?

I stumbled across the solution now.
If I run in the high colour modes the sound doesn't work.. but it does work in 256 colour mode.
Very odd, but I have some working sound which is good enough.

Just installed the Trio driver and they are there.
I didn't really sort out my sound though, the sound blaster 1.5 driver only seems to work in 8 bit which doesn't really sound very good!

Thanks I'll give that a try, On the sound there is the win3.x driver supplements from Microsoft, on those disk they may have a better sound driver.. Look for Microsoft Supplemental Drivers Library there is like 7 disk though. Search for them I'm not sure if I can link to them here they are not copyrighted software though just drivers.
I don't think sound ever did work well in windows 3.x or very few cards where supported.
