Hello again...
Well i seem to get stuck over and over...
I now successfully installed wfw3.11 and dos 6.22. Now to the fun stuff, i can't get the sound to work! I have som built in soundcard, crystal something, wich apparently isn't soundblaster compatible.I've been runni'n around the net all day to find some dos drivers for my card, but in vain. Is there a way to autodetect sound card or compatibility (not sure how you spell that), i mean with some system analyst program or so, so you know a little more exact what drivers you are looking for.
Or maybe the only way to solve this is to buy a PCI soundcard that is soundblaster compatible, or atleast has drivers for dos?
Well, well, my wfw3.11 works fine exept for this sound issue, so i guess i have to play my games in sielence until i come up with a solution.
:(

MSDOS and W3.xx drivers are different.
Under MSDOS you may be able to use the SET BLASTER statement:
http://www.mwpms.uklinux.net/sound.txt
If it is a Crystal sound chip, then download the utility from www.hwinfo.com which identifies the computer hardware, as some Crystal generic W3.xx drivers are available from support at www.cirrus.com

Yes - SoundBlaster and SB compatible cards must have the SET BLASTER= line in autoexec in order to function in DOS & in Win3xx
Hmmm - those links have an eerie similarity ; )
Crystal should be SB compatible - some had a small bit of initialization code (cwbinit) you'd run at DOS startup as well
Why don't they make computers that will do what we think we want them to do?

Well, i've tried to install the SB drivers in 3.11, but maybe i'll try to use SETBLASTER then... The drivers that i found was for my card, same model and everything, but it displayed various errors at startup after installing, so i don't know if i setted it up crrectly.. :S
