Comment: I'm having problems with a 486 laptop. I have sound card and can sometimes use Windows Media Player without any problem. But somtimes, I get an error message that says that I haven't installed drivers or something like that. Any knowledge you have about this problem would be most helpful. Thanks! Josh

Reply: (edit)Some of the Windows Media Player problems are bugs of the software. Do you have problems with a particular filetype?

Reply: (edit)No, I don't have problems with a particular file type, but when I start Media Player, sometimes it works perfectly, but sometimes a dialog box appears that says, "There are no MCI device drivers installed on your system. Use the Drivers option in Control Panel to install MCI device drivers." I don't know why it does this. It seems to change every time I restart Windows.

Reply: (edit)Well, I have Media Player 3.0. Is that the latest version? It still gives me errors. Do I need to add something to my Win.ini or Config.sys files?
