Subject: Sound card driver woes
OS: Windows 3.11 WFW
CPU/Ram: 1GHz PIII 448mb RAM
Model/Manufacturer: Hell, I mean Dell
Comment:
I have a 1GHz PIII 448mb RAM PC with XP Pro and MS-DOS 7.10 with Windows 3.11WFW. I have gotten 1024x768x256 res. successfully for the video, but I really want sound. Sound card is Aureal AU8820. I have the drivers, but no idea what my IRQ, DMA, ports are.

1GHz PIII 448mb RAM 1GB master, DOS 7.10+WFW 3.11, 20GB slave XP Pro, 64mb NVIDIA GeForce Ti4200

You might begin by looking in the XP Device Manager, resources

Saying that XP is the most stable MS OS is like saying that asparagus is the most articulate vegetable

It is quite likely not compatable with MS-DOS/WfW3.xx....

Probably need a Creative SB PCI Card.
