Hi, Should I get Windows 3.11 (the updated version of Windows 3.1)? or Windows for Workgroups 3.11? BTW, is there any way I can install Windows NT 3.51 without making those 3 floppys at the begining of the install? I really want to try it out but I dont have a floppy drive.

Radeon 9200 PCI w/ 256mb of RAM, 2.0ghz Pentium 4, 1gb of PC2100 DDR 266 RAM, 40gb Hard Drive, Turtle Beach Catalina

Before attempting to install. Where are you going to install? Win 3.x is a FAT16 application. You will need to create a less than 2 gig partition and format it.

Without a floppy will make these installs more difficult.

I am installing it on Microsoft Virtual Machine 2004. And I am using MS-DOS 7.10 as the base so it will have FAT16, 32, and NTFS support. I really dont want to use 3.xx, I want to use 3.51, but I have a newer computer that does not have a floppy drive, and the 3.51 setup will not seem to let me bypass this step. Is there any way to do it?

You could just make virtual floppy images with MS VPC 2004. From the Virtual PC Console window, click File>Virtual Disk Wizard, Create a new virtual disk, and follow through with the wizard to create a floppy image. Just make three of them, and capture them in the Virtual machine (click Floppy>Capture Image, etc.) when they are needed.

Another option would be to start the Windows NT 3.51 setup by typing winnt /b, which should complete setup using a floppyless operation.

Thank you very much, I will give it a try, Win 3.51 has been the OS I have always wanted to try.

One more thing, I need to install MS-DOS 7.1 using the basic FAT filesystem, otherwise I can not install WIN NT 3.51, because it does not recognize FAT 32.
