Dear... I have a computer with two hard drives, one with windows 98SE, the other with WFWG. The modem (Intel V92 HaM Data Fax Voice, hardware 56k) installed itself on COM6 for 98SE. How can I get WFWG to recognize the same modem? Thanks, John

I don't think "Intel V92 HaM Data Fax Voice" is a full-hardware modem. It should be a half-hardware or software modem, so it won't work with WFW 3.11 or pure DOS.

This is a V.90 WinModem and as such will not work under Windows 3x only from Windows 95 onwards.

Thank you gentlemen. I thougth it was full hardware. My mistake. So I guess my best bet is to add one of my old 33.6 modems and try to set that up. Do you think that two modems attached to the same mobo will create a problem?

Maybe-especially since you're considering mixing "hardware" and "software" modems. Your best bet would be to find a good external (i.e. hardware) 33.6 modem to use on an available serial port. It should be available to the Win3x side and usable as a backup to the Win98 side.
