Hey Fellows,
Finally bought a serial mouse from K-Mart
( Australia ) brand is Quartet, box says
download driver from www.driver333.com.tw
did that but when installing in my 3.11
i get the msg, no OEMSETUP.INF file, u know the one, the box and driver site says it will be
compATIBLE.Can any kind sole give me some advice,
i.e is there a way around this error
or should i find a good generic driver ?

Hi eendoe:
When I used a serial port mouse on a Win 3.1 PC, I use the 3.1 mouse drivers. Run setup.exe in windows directory & use a Logitech or Serial mouse setting, I think one of those should work.Good luck.

There may be a compatible driver available in Windows 3.11 if you have the setup disks available.
From the Main Group in Program Manager, select Windows Setup...Options/Change System Settings
Try using Mouse Systems Serial or Genius Serial or perhaps Logitech.
If you can't access Windows Setup from within Windows because you don't have mouse support, from a C:\ prompt type
cd windows (enter)
setup (enter)You can make the changes from there.
Alternatively, There is a MS mouse driver, which works fine with my serial mouse here:
http://www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk/win3x.htm
This file needs to be expanded by running it and the driver is then installed by running the setup file. Both these processes can be carried out from within Windows or from a DOS prompt.
