I have finally convinced my mother to upgrade comp. We are having trouble saving some of the files to A: It says error 27 on disk. I have tried different disks with same results. A friend of mine said the hard drive may be going out. The problem seems tohappen with larger files but not to large to fit on the disk.

Does this error occur in DOS or in Win3x?
Are you running Stacker Disk Compression?

Are you trying to use HD 1.44MB Disks on a 720Kb LD System?

Hi!

The error code is a general Win32 error:

27
The drive cannot find the sector
requested.

ERROR_SECTOR_NOT_FOUND

This means that there is a general problem
with your disk drive. Either, as the previous message says, you're trying to use 1.44 M
floppies in a 720 K drive or the drive
itself is going away.

Bye, Gaby

You could try instead of saving to A:/ opening the folder, select all, copy and paste into A:/ More than likely your drive is about shot. (like everyone has said)
What have ya got to lose??
