An old computer of ours recently had a terminal failure, a friend fixed it but wiped the hard drive & then installed a new version of Win95 (this computer does not have a CD drive). I can live with that, but the problem is some very important files that I had backed up in 3.1 are on 7 floppy discs that I cannot now access. Win95 doesn't recognise the file type in back-up. If I remember correctly, the files were compressed during backup also.
Can anybody tell me in very layman terms how to overcome this problem.
Many thanks in advance,

Terry
