Replace CMOS Battery

Does anyone know where I can buy a CMOS battery. She has an old LP-210 motherboard that she purchased from Compudyne but I haven't had luck in finding one. Can anyone please help??? Thanks

Hi Richie: Some of the old motherboards used a soldered on battery that looked like a AA (half the length) with wires on each end, the other device was called a Dallas (if you have this don't think you can repair it). If you have the soldered 3 volt battery you can try to use a battery holder for 2 AAA batteries (Radio Shack 270-398), cut wires form PC battery & solder correct polarity wires to PC wires from external battery.

If the mobo has a set of pins labeled EXT BATT or similar any radio shack or computer store should have a battery to fit. Just make sure of the pin configuration when you go for the new battery. If the old battery assembly is "leaking", I'd remove it from the mobo and wash the area with a cloth and a water/baking soda solution.
