Comment: Hey that Calmira thing has reignited my old passion for 16 bit apps.... problem is my 486 is in the box collecting dirt, and why use that to run 3.11 when I got this PII. Anyone know a realiable site to download win3.11? thats not the end of it though for I generally have no id how to dual boot between 98 and 3.11... plus the old problem of DOS 7.x/6.x.... if I want to dual boot does this mean I'll have to get 6.22 off the net somewhere and install it then install win3.11 and solve a bunch of issue of graphics drivers which I probably will not be able to find blah blah blah.... I just talked myself into forgetting that idea.... so.... if you got info thanks in advance, if not.... well, I probably not going to do it anyhow.... sigh....

Reply: (edit)Reliable site for dos6.22, win3.1x and more go to "http://www.kewlone.com" , don't know about the dual boot though - would you need to partition your p11 drive a tiny bit say 500Mb just for the old 16 bits - I believe you can use Partition Magic to re-adjust the partitions. Best of luck, let me know how you went on. Kind regards, Mike.

Reply: (edit)Win98 will run on FAT16, but FAT32 will will save a lot of disk space. win31 won't run FAT32 at all. With at least a FAT16 boot partion (or all) install Win31 over a DOS bootable drive install Win98 to a different directory to bootback to Win31 press F8 (repeatly?) or hold down Ctrl during boot to enter startup menu then choose "boot to old DOS" DOS 5.0 or later and DOS 7.1 both fdisk to compatible FAT16 Harddisk partions. And almost all DOS7.1 commands are backward compatible to DOS3.3 (at least) with DOS3.3 fdisk partions.
