I'm running Windows2000pro and am trying to recover some old archived files that were stored using Windows 3.1. For some reason, the system won't recognize them at all. My boss' machine is on Win98, and it doens't work either. Do I need to find a 3.1 system to recover these files?

If the files were created using windows/dos BACKUP, you'll need a copy of the backup program to recover them.

You can get copies of MSBackup and MWBackup (For DOS & Windows) at www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk You will need to install SETVER and set programs to MS-DOS 6.22.
