Hi I want to turn my 286 to something useful so I was looking for tweaks apps utils and other fun stuff. I have checked some hompages already but the most progs are for 386 and win 3.1

specs Intel 286 8mhz, 640kb mem,850mb hdd, ms-dos 6.2, Win 3.0

Try a search for the Garbo archive. It covers many subjects and programs show a date that gives you a hint to the type of hardware required. Windows became popular around 1990 with Win 3.0 .

You can install 3.1 on that machine, so more application will work (the games that come with 3.11 for instance and Word 6.0/Office 4.3, but also other software....)
