Progman.ini on Windows 3.11Boot CD

Comment:
I created a CD with Dos 6.22 and Windows 3.11. It boots fine, until prompted that the progman.ini needs write access. If you ignore the error the CD boots fine. Is there a way to set an environment var to point progman.ini to a RamDrive?

Consider using a RAM drive and at boottime copy the Windows image from the CD rom to that. You can read about running Windows from RAM on my homepage http://soedesh.webhop.net

I am not 100% sure here. But since PROGMAN.INI is called as the default Shell by SYSTEM.INI. If after setting up a RAM Drive in Autoexec.Bat as say Drive F could you not then call F:\PROGMAN.INI as your shell in SYSTEM.INI?
This is of course if you never intend to make any major changes since both WIN.INI & SYSTEM.INI will be write protected on your CD! but Windows does not seem to mind that..
