I have this problem with mIRC 5.91. When i try to start it, this strange error-message appears: "This is a compressed executable file. The file must be decompressed before it can be loaded."

Does anyone know why?

I could be wrong but i think MIRC 5.9 was for 32bit systems, 9X etc Its possible you need an earlier version, or alternatively try PIRCH.

The 16 bit (win3.x version) ia still available for download at http://www.mirc.com/get.html

Its at the bottom of the page

This one was actually really weird, becouse i couldn't start the 16-bit version of mIRC, but 32-bit version works really fine...

Please help me!

I was using mIRC v.5.91 and everithing worked fine except if I wanted to send somebody some file. Message box opened saying "waiting for reply", and the person I was sending it to accepted the file and then nothing happened until reqest timed out. Then somebody told me this is because od Windows XP - my operating system and so I have downloaded the lastest version of mIRC 6.12 hoping this problem is fixed here. But unfortunately it wasn't so, same as by the early version, it wouldn't work.

So please help me if you know the answer to this problem - I suspect Win XP present the problem?
