my friend was given a computer with windows 3.1 but when we turn it on it just says primary master missing.Can anyone tell me what that means?is her plugs bad or do I need to confiqure something?It really seems like a good computer with alot of upgrading potential.but there is no recovery disk. thank you

Primary master missing is the hard drive. Get into the CMOS and do a auto detect on the hard drive.

OR this may get into the jumpers on the hard drive. The hard drive can be set to be self-standing, master, or slave. Any chance that's been changed recently?
