I have a PCMCIA Xircom CEM33 33.6KBps / 10Mbps Modem/NIC, (16-bit PCMCIA) I wish to use under Windows 3.11 WFW. Firstly, I can't seem to find socket services or PCMCIA slot drivers for windows 3.11 at all. I've followed several addresses mentioned in this forum and all have turned out to be dead ends.
Second, I havn't found a driver for this OS anywhere....
Can anyone help me? Do I even have a chance of success....?

What is the make and model of your laptop? as some manufacturers provide replacement drivers, others do not. The 2 main types of Card & Socket Services Drivers are CARDSOFT or PHOENIX
Some drivers to try are:
CardSoft for DOS release 5.30.11
http://www.systemsoft.com/l-2/l-3/products-other.htm
CardWare for DOS/Windows 3.x, Release 7.0
http://www.tssc.de/index.htmCardsoft 'PCMCIA Card & Socket Services' for DOS & Windows 3.1 is also available here:

Password is allBut a search on your laptop name & modal may help as well.

Even though Intel acquired Xircom a while ago, they still have the old drivers on their site. Head to www.xircom.com (which brings you to Intel's Xircom page), mouse over Support and Downloads then click Drivers and Software. Scroll down and click on Xircom Network Products, click Xircom Ethernet + Modem Adapters, scroll down to the appropriate section and click "Xircom CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 33.6 Adapter (CEM33)". Click Software and Drivers on the page that comes up, click the first link on the next page, select Windows 3.1x from the drop-down box, and hit Go. That should give you all the driver stuff you need.
