Product: gateway solo
Comment:

I would really love to use dos/win 3.1 on my old Gateway laptop but I need to have internet access from both my wireless card and modem . I use both regularly . I have a Lucent Technologies 1456vqc-t4 pcmcia modem and a Motorola wn825g adapter . I have searched but came up empty for drivers . I'm not even sure if it is possible to have a wireless connection with dos/win3.1
Thank you for any help.

First you need Cardware 7 "Card and Socket Services Software" http://www.tssc.de to enable the PCMCIA Controller Chip.

Second you need to find an older supported WiFi card which may be 2,4 or 10mbps speeds.

Zoom and Agere use to manufacture 16bit Cards.

If you have WfW3.11 with full TCP/IP support and you have a ethernet RJ45 port you should be able to utilise a Ethernet to WiFi adaptor:

But back to your original question I feel you are out-of-luck!!

Response 1 has a few good suggestions. A Wireless PCMCIA Card would not have drivers available for Win 3.1. So the most probable solution would first get an ethernet port for your laptop. 3COM/Megahertz has(had) a PCMCIA card with a RJ-45 Ethernet port with drivers for DOS/Win3/Win9x. They also have a modem/ethernet combo card. Epson had an ethernet card with card and socket services. Another method of getting an Ethernet port is a docking station. Once you get the port you need the wireless connection from a bridge adapter. You may get by with a wireless game adapter.

Thank you for all your advice so far .

I was hoping to minimize the amount of adapters and wires to keep my machine as mobile as possible . I use my wireless connection exclusively at work , home , and around town . I only use the modem when there is no other options . I wireless bridge like Orbital suggests would require a 110 ac outlet I imagine plus I don not have a native Ethernet port on this old laptop . I guess ill have to dual boot for now .

Thank you all again for you help and advice
