I have a Toshiba T200CS Tablet PC. It has an 1.8" 80mb hard drive. I wanted to upgrade it but the size is not exactly standard. So I wanted to try maybe CD. My question is: Is there a PCMCIA CF card reader that will be recognized by Win 3.1?
No problem you need a PCMCIA to card flash adapter similar to http://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html, also you will Card and Socket Services Software from http://www.systemsoft.com/l-2/l-3/products-other.htm if you do not already have, but pricey. Compact Flash cards are ATA 66 complient so can be recognised as a formatable drive.
If you do not have the required software to recognise PCMCIA cards then PCDOS version 7 has built in support, but still pricey!
Summary: Hi LightSpeed. Yes you can get PCMCIA (and USB) adaptors for Digital Camera Memory Sticks and other formats. These types of cards are also know as "Flash Memory" I have a Compact Flash (CF) PC-CARD ad...
Summary: It may be easier to think about installing on COMPACT FLASH MEDIA available up to 8GB: http://www.lexarmedia.com/digfilm/index_cf.html for an older computer you may need this: http://www.addonics.com/...
