Parallel port CD Rom drive

Comment:
I've acquired a CD Rom drive of unknown make which plugs in the parallel (printer) port. Does anyone know of a suitable driver - and how to install it in Windows 3.1?

Are there any serial nos, model nos? FCC ID? There has to be some sort of label on the back or bottom.

Once you figure out what it is, like any CD-ROM, you install it from DOS. Win31 is irrelevant.

Updating my original question, I've opened up the drive to find it is a Matsus---a CR 562. I've now freed it from its parallel port extras and installed it inside the computer. I've downloaded various bits of driver software but I'm at a loss as to how to install - the install asks me for I/O address. What's that? Help!

You will need a soundcard/Interface card and a tray to load the CDs (hopefully the tray is still with the drive).
If it isn't you can still find used ones for sale on the Internet.
Find a soundcard with a Panasonic connector interface. Ebay or any source that sells used computer stuff should do.
I/O addresses are normally set by jumpers on the soundcard, then you have to make sure you select the jumpered I/O address when installing the software.
