Forgot to mention will be using the browser
for Internet Email (Yahoo/Hot Mail) only.
Was told that the browser will need to
support Java or have a plug in. Do either
Netscape 3.x or IE 3.x do?

Hi Steve:
I use some web based e-mail, & needed to upgrade my browser to Netscape 4.08 for being able to add attachment. You may also need the Java in the newer browsers to open some e-mail that uses Java. As far as I know, IE 3.0 is as far as you can go without having to update your OS (Win 95 or 98), as with Netscape 4.08.Good luck.

Z thanks for the tip! Are you saying that
this attachment can Not be added to (N)
3.x?Opera is looking better all the time!

Hi Steve:
I'm not familiar with Opera, you need to make sure you can add devices like MP3 players, Real Audio, Flash, & other stuff that you might want or need. As for Netscape, many of the web sites require at least ver. 4 to visit their site. Some sites are requiring that you have devices that need Win 95 or newer (32 bit Real Audio, Flash, only) OS. Check out Opera first before installing, or you might need to install Netscape 4.08.Good luck.

IE 5 is available in a 16-bit Windows version.

Netscape undocumented features

Hi Laurence:
Thanks for the info site, but I think these browsers are un-tested (maybe beta programs).
I went to Microsoft's web site, & it shows that system requirements for IE 5 are for 32 bit OS's & not 16 bit, so the 16 bit download is not listed at Microsoft. Here is the location address for MS information.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/TechInfo/default.asp
Good luck.
Z

Thanks Laurence for the info!
As a Newbie, the main problem is picking
the smallest one that has all the features
I need. Do all ver of both IE and Netscape
support Java plugins?
