Hi everyone. I have just built a computer with some old parts I had laying around and I decided I would use it for all of my old DOS games I have put all of the games on and they run well exept for my faviroute.. Scorch! I think that the files are damaged because this game has been stuffed around a fair bit. Its been on 3 different floppys, had its files seperated, compressed & uncompressed heaps, on a few drives that have failed and I salviged it from them and now I have just taken it from CD and put it on to another floppy and every computer I try it on it puts the screen on standby mode. I have been searching all over the internet but havent found it except for versions 1.2, 1.5 etc. I would REALLY appreciate it if anyone who has Scorch V1.00 could E-Mail it to me. Its only 145KB so its not to big to e-mail.
Here is some info on the game:

Scorched Earth 1.00.
Scorches Earth is shareware.
Developed by Wendell T. Hicken
Developed in 1990 or 1991.

Thanks heaps for any help.
My e-mail is mattwizz3@hotmail.com

As he mentioned, v1.5 is (widely) available - for some reason he's looking for v1.0

Don't really see the point myself - there's a reason software is re-released, and it's usually for bugfixes or new features.

.. both of which are still 'Scorched Earth v1.5'

Reading comprehension - it's a wonderful thing.

I am doubtful if v1.0 even exists, but if it does, it very likely isn't online.

Opps I overlooked the 1.2 and 1.5. Those are the only 2 I have. What's so special about 1.0?

Thanks guys and thanks Chad but I have already got version 1.5 if you could e-mail scorch 1.2 I would appreciate it. Thanks rogerashley but both of those links were version 1.5. The reason I want version 1.00 (Which does exist) is because it was the first game I ever had, versin 1.5 is good but I would like the original game. Thanks heaps for your help guys.

I found a site that said they may have v 1.00 so I emailed them requesting a copy. I searched for Wendell T. Hicken instead of scorched earth. If I get a responce or copy of it from them i will email it to you.

All the ver 1.2 that I have found and tried on windows 98/95 bring up a warning Cannot find the working folder for this program etc....

Do you wish to continue anyway?

I click yes and the game works fine from there. It works fine if booted from ms-dos in win95.

I even have a original copy I got from a big ol floppy sent to me in mail long long ago. It does the same.
