I have an old 3 1/2 floppy that has an entire book on that I typed and saved with an old Windows program, now with the new computers all I get is that the disk is not formatted. How can I get this data.

Seems like an XP issue, and little relevance to Win31

Floppy Disk is Not Accessible, Not Formatted, or Not Recognized by Windows

... or, try it an a machine running a DOS based OS - it is possible that the diskette is not in good condition though

If I know the answer I'll tell you the answer, and if I don't, I'll just respond, cleverly

Yet another 'feature' of XP.

Good to keep in mind the difference between a feature and a bug; a feature has seniority.

You need to do the transfer to, say 3 1/2 under DOS.
