Non System Disk or Disk Error with no disk in the floppy...

Hi , as soon as i boot my computer, the only thing that happens is a screen that says "non system disk or disk error" but there is no floppy in my a:, whats wrong, can someone please help? i dont mind formating my drive but i cant find dos, how do i find it? thanx a mill, Bill..

Does it give the error with a boot floppy inserted? Check the ribbon and power cable to the HD. Check the bios setup to see what the boot sequence is. Should be C,A,CDROM

Bill- Were you able to resolve your problem? I have the same deal. Boots to error and I must reinstall off boot disc to DOS. Then reinstall win 3.11 off disc. Real problem unless i dont shut down. Please E mail me if you can help. Thanks Dave G

check your cables.but you most likely have to boot with a dos boot disk format the drive reinstall dos and then 3.1 id did this three times before i realized dos wasn't running properly
I have seen that before ... And, you need to try to hit the esc a couple of times .... it is recognizing something else .... and that may help ....

Bill, the problem you have sounds like it can be resolved by taking a bootable floppy disk and copying the command.com file from it to c:\ if you still need help you can email me direct.
