the problem is with the hard drive i recentley formatted all went wll but when i restarted the computer the thing said non system disk then i tried to boot from a: but when i put the win 95 boot disk in the a: drive light just stayed on and when i tried the win 3.1 i got a bunch of garbage i never got to a prompt i formatted because the hard drive was so messed up it had win 95 it had no himem.sys or config so i will just start fresh

Let me ask. How did u format ? Format c:/ or Format c:/s
Try reformating useing format c:/s s for system disk.
Go to my site. U'll find all u need to restore the computer. rescue disk recover the command.com CU Link

In addition to formatting you need to go into your BIOS and check that drive A: is still selected as 1.44Mb. Garbage often occurs when a power failure or something has disturbed that setting in the BIOS. When you get your floppies working, you can attend to C: drive.
