newer speaker on 3.1

so i'm dusting off the old, old computer (maybe putlinux on it) anyway, how do you install new speakers? it has the original sound card and the active sp-95 speaker.

active sp-95 speaker? What do you mean? Speakers plug into the soundcard's output jack. If your Windows sound drivers etc are installed, and all is in order you'll have sound (in Windows) I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
