Well, I'm gonna leave the downloads and weblinks upto the users (for now) as time goes by, though, I'll be adding 'em along the way. There are so few places anymore to discuss pure msdos or Windows 3x that I thought I'd have a crack at it :-)
I must have missed something here. It's always great to have a website supporting 3.1 but I saw nothing on either link.
Could you use some help with this or did I miss something? There's lots of sites out that are devoted to DOS/Win3.x that I rely on; like the Old Files Network, Lightspeed, and many more to provide help and solutions for users of DOS and Win 3.x.
These are sites where where the support of DOS and Win 3.x are paramount.
You have a great lookin' web page but you need content that applies to the retro theme.
I realize it's all new but I'd like to see something that's helpful to the retro theme in addition to the news you have now.
Mind if I reserve judgement until you you get content up that applies to users of DOS, Win 3.x, Win95, etc.?
If I missed something, please guide me to it.
Again, great lookin' site; I just feel it needs some content.
I'd like to add content, such as links, downloadable freeware, etc. But those are rare and few in between, I'll be adding what I find as I find them but hopefully we'll get more users to add their own sites or a site they know of or maybe get more subscribers overall to partake in the message boards. There are "TWO" retro sites, one strictly for ClassiC DOS and Classic Windows (http://rtdos.com/wintel) and one for the classic systems and classic consoles such as Atari, Colecovision, Commodore, trs80, etc. That site is located at http://rtdos.com/forum Granted there is nothing much on either site, but they were just launched (one of them is a re-launch) and hopefully more people will sign up and share information, links, and downloads.
btw, i'd like to add that i am not competing with these other "Windows 3.1" sites but instead providing an addtional services to DOS and Windows 3.1 users (as there are a lot of emulator users that still use DOS and Windows 3.1 I might add)
This is not aimed entirely at you but how can these forums be accessible to MSDOS users who do not have modern web browser with SSL/Java etcetc support. Try reading them with DOSLynx if you know what that is.
Also look at the following sites which are accessible to Arachne Browser:
