Would you please mention what you
like/dislike about this browser. Thanks!Z Furman,
After a lot of searching found out why you
had to upgrade to (N) 4.08 for Java
support. If you are interested let me know. There is a Win 3.1 (N) 3.01 Beta with Java
that we will compare to the (N) 4.08.Thanks again Z for the tips!

Hi Steve:
The reason I use Netscape 4.08 is that my web based e-mail requires NS 4 or later to be able to send attachments, & 4.08 has 128 bit security for tranactions over the net. There are some sites that need NS 4 or later to visit. I looked at Explorer, but after using IE 3.03 with problems being unable to read text on some sites (including MS site information), I went for the highest version browser that can run on Win 3.1 (16 bit version), IE needs Win 95 or later for browsers. You still can't run the latest multi-media (real audio, flash, ect.) plugin
devices, because of newer system requirements
that need 32 bit OS.Hope this help you.
Z

I have both netscape 4.08 and IE 3.01 for my O/S (3.11) The motherboard has been upgraded from a 486 66mhz to a 366mhz AMD, and I must say that the IE browser performs much quicker than netscape. I have tried to setup and install IE 5.0 for win 3.1, but keep getting error messages for my "setupeng.dll" file. Netscape 4.08 takes much longer to load on to a site which wouldn't neccessarily require JAVA. In addition, netscape has that problem they have been having for months pertaining to hackers who can retrieve your personnel
files through netscape's Java programing. So if you didn't know this, I'd reccomend you to disable JAVA from your netscape browser.
