As Windows 3.0 is only a GUI and can be installed on any version of DOS version 6.22 and below, there is no Windows 3.0 bootdisk. What DOS version do you have installed on your machine? You will need to download a bootdisk for your version of DOS. Try a DOS 5.00 bootdisk.

Windows 3.x works under MS-DOS 7.0 without any problem,and will work under MS-DOS 7.1 with a patch,too.

yes, but without making use of 3xstart.exe, it would be impossible to run Windows 3.1x under MSDOS 7.1. Also I do not know why you would want to run in in MSDOS 7.00 anyhow. MSDOS did not impliment FAT32 support until 7.1. LFN Support was introduced with MSDOS 7.00
