Hi mates, I was wondering if anyone could either share or tell me where to download the upgrade from Windows 3.1 to Win95 on floppies -- thanks.

I had already check me favorite place www.abandonkeep.com and it hasn't got it.

i would use my copy of win98 on that machine that i have to work on but the machine hasn't got a cd-rom unit.

There are ways around the cdrom thing. Is the machine fast enough, and with enough memory, that W98 would be a good choice? CDROM's are down to as low as 35.00 here and there, maybe less. That's one option. The other is to transfer the install files from the CDrom drive on your "good" compouter through a "laplink/direc connect" type cable with laplink, xtlink, or (gasp, gag) Microsoft interlink/interserver. Also, a good place to buy 95 on floppies is ebay. READ carefully, I wouln't buy any that are not "sealed" "new" etc

do not buy win95 from ebay...i repeat...do not buy win95 from ebay...

read through page 1 & 2 of this forum...u will find win95 floppies full install (not upgrade) posted...

i have the win95 upgrade cd, also the win95b cd full install...and personally if i were u i would go for a full install not an upgrade...

again, forget about ebay...there disks r currupt...

I agree totally Novice 1. I have bought from E-bay also & my package was sealed. Corrupt cab files was all I got. And to this nonono guy shut up. If you cant help the guy on what he asked for keep you stupid comments to yourself. Also speak for yourself about the Win95 buy it like the rest of us did because alot of people didn't. Maybe the guy does not want to spend money on a cd-rom drive. I wouldn't just to install Win95. I make copies of software I've bought from the past 5 or 6 years operating systems/software etc,& email them to abandonware sites for them to offer to help people out with old pc's & I dont consider it illegal. I guess if this nono guys brother,sister,uncle,or best friend asked to use his Win95 disks to install on there pc he would say NO,GO BUY IT LIKE THE REST OF US DID. Of course not. He is the biggest jerk! I payed for Win95 cd version & if a family member/friend etc wanted to use it I could care less. Go jump in a lake! Win95 downloads are starting to flow just as much as Win3.1/3.0 and all the dos versions. Do a search on Win95 in this forum YeOldeMosh. You will find a download site.

Thats the beauty of the Internet. They try to keep old software alive. And thats a very good thing because there are plenty of old pc's floating around here & they are good for the average computer user who doesn't need a powerful pentium III pc.

Check out the warez newsgroups. They rock! Plenty of free downloads. I have all Windows OS up to '98 & all dos versions when I get DSL I will download WinME. I am now in the process of download OS/2 for a 486 pc I have.

IS there anywhere you can purchase windows 95 anymore in stores? "no" how can microsoft be loosing money if they don't support it anymore. I have the original MS WIndows 95 version, and i had a laptop that doesn have windows 95 so i just download one onto floppies so that i can use it on there is that illegal? "no" Microsoft. How do they make money? where can you buy it? lets say you do buy it and its all corrupted you download it off the net, so you do have the original and a working version.
