Do you mean that you deleted Windows yourself or that you can't get Win 3.1 to run.
On bootup, at the C:\ prompt, type WIN and what happens ?

At the C:\ prompt, type DIR
Do you have a directory called WINDOWS ?
And do you have two files called AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS

So, was there a WINDOWS directory or not ??
Try typing CD\WINDOWS, press Enter, then type DIR /W
Is there a big list of files ?
You are looking for the file WIN.COM
If it doesn't exist, then you will be needing to reinstall Win 3.1 from diskettes.

Win.com is the file that starts Windows, so without it you are doomed.
It should be in the Windows directory.
You could do a bit of a search through the other directories and see if it has been moved for some reason.
At C:\ prompt, type DIR /W and see if win.com is there
then try CD\DOS then DIR /W

If it cannot be found, then you need to reinstall Win 3.1
Depending on how much RAM you have, you may even be able to install Win 95A

You're welcome Mike
It seems to be that EBAY is a good source of old legal software.
But I'm sure you could find download sites if you do a spot of searching.

hmmmm... first of all, if the ms-dos opens a a directory when it starts, by default, you'll need to do "c.." (DUH!) anyway, if the windows directory is there, do "cd windows" (without any \ or /) and then write "Win", if it fails, just write "dir" and see if you have there some file called win.com/exe,etc... and run it
