Need a file viewer for viewing all files in windows 3.1 file manager. I had found one that worked kinda like an add-in it brought
the word fileview on top in the toolbar it displayed the context of any file, must have been in windows directory then I had to reinstall windows and lost it. It worked like
hitting the F9 key in the dos based dosshell.

Thanks for any help.

Maybe this one (Hex File View)?

File viewers for Win31 are... numerous, to say the least

Why don't they make computers that will do what we think we want them to do?

There are many, many more - you can keep scouting around for the specific one - you'll either find it or one as good or better. Some are more versatile than others and will let you view files in their native format. Drag and View comes to mind.

You're thinking, i think, of FMView, when you mention it adding itself to the 'file' menu , and the 'F9' thing...
It's here..
http://www.wincorner.com/home/fmview.html
It's shareware, and the unregistered version won't play videos or show more than a couple dozen different graphic formats.
Worth the 15 bucks, i think..
Yeah, sure there's lots of viewers for win31..i've tried over 20 of 'em..
this, i think , is the fastest, easiest, and most comprehensive....
it reads..

That's a lot of formats..it also saves in most formats, cuts , copies, pastes, edits system files , etc...

It lives in File manager as a right-click viewer..but you can get Calmira to call it up as an external viewer too with an easy tweak..
That's my 2 bits...
