the computer 3.11 it said to me
non-system disk or disk error
replace and press any key when readywhat is the proplem?

Well, first make sure your computer isn't trying to boot from a non-bootable floppy.
If it isn't, then you've lost 1 or more of your 5 DOS bootup files:
c:\io.sys (hidden)
c:\msdos.sys (hidden)
c:\command.com
c:\config.sys
c:\autoexec.batDOS requires the first 3 files on the list but will boot without the last 2.
You'll need to reinstall your version of DOS.

where can I get Dos disketten for win3.11?I install with a win95 Startdisk but he say Non system etc.
Thank´s Jörg

I had a similar problem as Rick did last month, that is getting a non-system disk error at boot-up (without anything in the floppy drive). I reinstalled DOS and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. This resolved the non-system disk error. However, now the system starts MS-DOS okay, then tests extended memory without problems, then stops and shows:
C:\>C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.exe /X
C:\>I typed in win and hit enter. Windows begins to run, but then stops and the following message comes up:
Unexpected Int 13h request while CMD-640X VxD is doing real-mode initialization. Remove all disk-cache software present!
At this point the system is totally unresponsive, can't Ctrl/Alt/Del or anything, have to power down. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
