my jpeg and jig files don't display

I have an IBM 486 Dx 66 mhz p.c. with 16 mb ram memory and 250 mb HD, 94 mb free. I run Windows 3.1 on Dos 6.2.My browser is Windows Internet Explorer 5, 15 bit version. I have jpeg files on my computer as well is jig files; however I am no longer able to display them. My graphics card is cirrus logic 5430 1 mb memory. Video otherwise all functioning fine.What can I do to correct this? Any suggestions appreciated.

Highlight a .jpg file in Files and choose File\Associate and then your grahics program or picture viewer. Do the same for a .jig.

Uhh well, using a DOS program for viewing pictures is the best i think. QV (www.multimediaware.com/qv) is ok but shareware. I use DISPLAY version 1.89a......

You can also try Sea3 for Dos, or the excellent XnView for win 3.1 (requires win32s installed). There is also ACDSEE16 for win 3.1, and a few others. Check out the Other resources section of my page.
