Does anyone know a good motherboard identification program for win 3.11 or dos 6.22? I want to find out if their are any bios updates for it that will allow me to use a cd-rom drive and all the bios sites tell me i need to find out the motherboard first. I don't have any win 32s installed. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Just go here http://www.powerload.fsnet.co.uk/ and get the cd rom drivers it doesn't matter what kind of motherboard you have if you have dos 6.22 and win 3.11 you should be good to go. also a free ide connection for the cd rom.
What ever your planing on using it for i'd look for more ram since you only have 4mb it's a little on the low side but cd rom will still work np.

Click here to download a little DOS utility (ctbios.exe, 77KB) that will give you information on your motherboard. Should be what you're looking for...
Hey, thanks a lot guys. It turned out the computer guy who told my aunt and i that we had to update the bios(which he would do for about $50 each) in order to use a cd-rom lied. The drivers work great and I'll keep the other program incase i do need to know more about my motherboard later. You guys just saved me and my aunt(who has 4 pc's identical to mine) a lot of time and money. Thank you so much.

jp,
Offer your computer guy the url's for fifty bucks. If he's crooked he'll argue with you; but, if he's just stupid you might make some money. Seriously, turn him on to this forum.
