OS: Win 3.11
CPU/Ram: dx2/66
Product: pentium
Comment:

Had an old PC as above dx2/66 which I use for reports / calcs etc which works (worked Ok - no probs)
Linked up a iiyama 21 visionmaster monitor which worked perfectly on pc with windows XP for cad work but I had purchased new fst monitor for that work
Now when I enter "win" at C prompt the screen goes blank so I am unable to see whether monitor settings have "slipped"

Iiyama works well on friends PC - Pc works with another monitor

How do I adjust monitor / settings via DOS prompt please - no shell facility on 3.11 and not used to DOS but assume I can adjust settings to work - or do I need driver etc
Any help much appreciated

What was the last monitor and it's specs, what is the specs of the Iiyama, and what display driver is presently installed?

From DOS, run SETUP in the WINDOWS dir and make sure that you select VGA for display. This will work with most monitors. Then run windows. Post back your results.

If you still see a black screen, perhaps your monitor does not support a VGA signal. (Unlikely; I haven't seen a recent one incompatible with VGA yet!)
