Does anyone know where I can get the IO.SYS disk that would have come with the LTE 286 when it came out. I have been to compaq obsolete and all I could find there was a diagnostics download. I can not get this puter to do anything but get to bios screen and it states the device driver, cd rom partition and BANANA as device name, the keyboard will not type anything on the screen, the screen freezes at the bios screen f3, f1, f10 doesn't work Can any one help me.

have you tried a regular boot disk and seeing if you could at least boot to dos maybe copy over some files or maybe the autoexec.bat/config.sys?

This was a nice little laptop if I remember right. but I think it used just straight dos nothing spectacular..

I did find a seller on ebay who may be able to help you out although he is selling a Lte 286 for $9.99 you might inquire if he has the disks that you are in need of.

Just go to the search engine on ebay type in Lte 286 it will take you right to it.
