I was tryin to set my second Hard Drive, to a slave drive, where you close some jumpers and open some, well that little white jumper cover for the hard drive is not on there, I was wondering if I could Use anything, to cover the jumpers up and close, or do I need that little white cover for it to work, THANKS, Ben
Well, The plastice is only an insulator to make sure that no unwanted connections are made. Any conductive metal would work if you could rig it up between the 2 proper pines, but the chances of some homemade rigged up jumper falling off or accidentally or good.
I would guess that if you went to the service department of any computer store and asked to buy one jumper for a hard drive, they would reach in a junk drawer and hand you a few for nothing.

Sorry about the double post. And whatever you do, don't try to make a connection between 2 pines or oaks or mulberry trees, the result would be undesirable.
