My old color laptop's(Toshiba 486,50MHz - T4700CT) battery charging circuit doesn't seem to be working. Can somebody help, with a repair,replacement of charging circuit board/battery ? Also please let me know how to upgrade to win 95(from 3.1) and adding CD ROM (Laptop has 16 MB. RAM & 800 MB. H.D.). Thanks. Nvrao

Hi Nvrao: Here's my opinion about your laptop, first due to your small hard drive I would stay with Win 3.1, & have you tried a different battery (new one if possible). The problem could just be a battery that won't charge anymore, if you have a bad charging problem from PC I wouldn't try to fix it unless your good at working on laptop PCs, you could do more harm than good.
My IBM laptop's battery no longer lives either. It is a decommisioned machine from a company and probably was never used outside the office. Try getting a multimeter, If there is damn all current flowing ur battery is dead, if it seems ok, maybe you have a problem. I doubt if getting a new battery, or repair is viable owing to age of ur machine.
