Reply: (edit)It is one of those "wonderful" computers from back in the day that used a proprietary System Disk to extend the I\O portion of the CMOS. Something you can only get away with on NoteBook\Laptop Computers these days. Check at the PacHell web site for a system disk.

Reply: (edit)Sounds exactly like a Packard Bell 486 I've got, Phoenix Bios 1.01E If it's the same CTRL-ALT-S should access the BIOS, but F2 gets you there with an invalid boot configuration (as you know). Did you remember to save the configuration (esc-F4)? There's a 2nd screen (page down) - make sure IDE controller is enabled, and the PIO settings are correct (mine uses 'Standard PIO') Did it ever work before this? Did you use auto-type to configure hard drive settings - sometimes this isn't always 100% right, you may need to enter the (correct) specs by hand. If all else fails, try setting hard drives=none and boot from a floppy.
