installing on a packard

I got a packard bell from 1993 as a second computer...my problem is that when i turn it on it says....non-system disk or disk error replace and press any key when ready....I know it has been striped of windows....I need to know what program i should install on it and how to keep it from what it is doing now...i have been up all night trying to figure this out and yes i ve been through this site many times......please help me.

Tanya, Firstly make sure you haven't got a floppy disk in the drive. Secondly, if you have a dos boot disk try booting off that then seeing if you can access the C: drive that way. Then type fdisk, format c: /s, then reload Dos & Windows 3.1. Let me know ScoAce
