Hi Patty Grace:
Have you try running scandisk (on through setting with auto fix turned on) to see if there are any problems with your hard drive. You could have bad or corrupted file(s), or bad sectors in you drive where file(s) can't be read. Did you try a clean install of OS & programs as last resort, if that fails you might have a hard drive that's going bad.

Good luck.

I ran scan disc like you said and it found no errors. How do I do a clean install of OE and programs? I'm not sure what to do.
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Patty Grace:
Before you do a clean install can you load Win 98 in safe mode, then exit to DOS & try installing 98 from CD-ROM. The only problem when you do a clean install is the lost of all or most of your data on drive, If you use the deltree command in DOS (exit Win 98 to run) to just remove your windows directory the data in your other directories will still be on drive. But if you fdisk or format drive all data will be cleared. For clean install of hard drive, make sure you have copies of all programs you plan to use, drivers (for some devices), & hopefully a backup of all important data.

Good luck.

Have you tried to perform a "repair" first? This can be done through the control panel -> add/remove programs -> Microsoft Internet Explorer. Click on Add/Remove, then select repair and click OK.

HTH.
