I need to use Direct cable connection to get something from 3.1 to 98

i need to use direct cable connetion but cant connect to my computer im using 98 and iam tring to get something out of there and put on my 98 system please help

Not possible - Win3x doesn't support DCC At Dos level Intersvr and Interlnk require Win98 to be on Fat16 Network the 2 machines - yes, cards etc, or use something like WinZip and floppies/burn a CD, etc
