Hi Lellis2k:
When you start your PC, right after you see memory number stop counting, hit the Esc button. This should bring you to the bios window, where you can check to see if your bios sees the hard drive. If not, then look for auto detect section to find hard drive & make sure it shows up in the device section.
If the hard drive information was missing, then you could have a bad bios battery on your motherboard. The battery keeps your clock running, & holds bios information memory which your PC needs to run.If all is working in bios, then you could have a bad boot information on hard drive. Then you need to reinstall DOS to your drive, & then replace autoexec.bat & config.sys information. To open Windows type c:\win or
get to windows directory by typing c:\cd\windows, then c:\windows\win to start windows. Once in Windows go to file manager & copy autoexec.bak & config.bak to a:\, where you need to rename these files to autoexec.bat & config.sys. These older files should have the old information that was in you original files, which get changed upon reinstalling DOS. On last thing is that you might have a bad connection on your drive cable, or bad hard drive.Good luck.
