H-P DLA CD-Rom driver
I am using the H-P DLA driver in Win 98 for formatting a CD-RW and CD-R disks. Haven't ever had a need to use this software beforehand, so is my first experience with it. The software is used only for handling data type files, no music, and it mentions in help file it is doubtfull a DOS system can read the files afterwards. Afterwhich, the disk cannot be read in Windows 3.1 and would like to know of acceptable software that can be used.
Is there some other type of software for formatting and use that will make disks coming off the 98 computer compatible with the 3.1 computer?
or, is there some conversion software which will make the files visable to copying when on 3.1?
I have an old NEC style CD-ROM in my 486/66 computer.

Hi, I use EASY CD CREATOR and DIRECT CD from Roxio and most of my machines can read the CDR's. The one I have with the old style sound card hookup CDROM is unable to read any of my burned disks so it might be the same for your old one. HTH James

It is unlikely that your old drive will read CD-RW's. You don't have to format CD-R's. When creating disks to be read by DOS use the ISO9660 format. No long file names, only 8.3 file names. Try a disk to check.
