Someone gave me an old laptop a couple of days ago and it's running Windows 3.1

I need to know how to remove some drive letters that were added to it by the last person who owned the laptop. As of now there is an A,C,D,E,and a F Drive. I would like to remove the D,E,and F.

It usually doesn't work that way. Much depends on what the drive letters represent - physical drives, partitions, or drive assignments created with the SUBST command.

Fdisk option (4) will display partition info.

Why don't they make computers that will do what we think we want them to do?

nick,

jboy's right as usual.

Keep in mind that if you start messing with drives you may wind up with nothing working.

Ah, would but that were true - but thanks ; )

Yeah - so much depends on what the OP actually means - by and large, drive letters can't be 'removed' like flicking anchovies from a pizza.

We may never know.
